Some of Ireland's biggest and most successful sports-stars are taking the time out of their day next Monday to Hurl for Cancer in Carlow. A brainchild of horse-racing legends Davy Russell and Jim Bolger, Hurling for Cancer research is an initiative that got off the ground in 2012 that, thanks to the generosity and support of horse-racing and GAA stars all over Ireland, has been a rip-roaring success. Every year, thousands flock to watch the exhibition game that pits Jim Bolger's stars against Davy Russell's best. It's ten years on now and what you have at this stage is a huge occasion and a widely supported event that has raised €1.3 Million for the Irish Cancer Society since its inception. The line-ups are as follows for this year's event, with a who's who of GAA, racing, sports and TV stars such as David and Paudie Clifford, Rachael Blackmore, Ursula Jacob, Paul McGrath, Miriam O’Callaghan, Michael Duignan, Kevin Manning, Willie McCreery, Barry Geraghty, Marty Morrissey and Joanne O’Riordan in line to be lending a hand as selectors, commentators, side-line officials, umpires and maor uisce.
