Lee Brennan the latest forward to walk from Tyrone panel

Tyrone GAA forward Lee Brennan will reportedly leave the senior intercounty football panel to return to his club Trillick.

According to the Ulster Herald, Brennan informed Tyrone manager Mickey Harte of his decision to leave the panel last week after making just two NFL appearances this year, with just one start, while he was deemed surplus to requirements for the Ulster preliminary round victory over Derry. The 23-year-old follows Ronan O’Neill out of the Tyrone set-up with the latter also failing to gain any starts during the recent league campaign. Brennan was a second-half substitute in last year's All-Ireland final defeat to Dublin and he's the third forward to leave the panel following Mark Bradley's study leave. Former Tyrone forward Owen Mulligan said that Brennan's departure from the panel was baffling.

"Lee Brennan pulling out of the Tyrone senior set up is baffling," Mulligan tweeted. "This is happening all to often with our forwards every year. These young exciting players are maybe fed up with the commitment it takes to get a starting jersey and not satisfied to be used as subs in big games."
