Cristiano Ronaldo turns 30 today, that much you probably already knew.
With all the plaudits the World Player of the Year will be receiving today, one Canadian University is going a bit far in their adoration of the Real Madrid star.
The University of British Columbia - Okanagan, are now offering a course on the sociology of Ronaldo, after a lecturer was inspired by a Portuguese commentator's emotional broadcast during their World Cup playoff win over Sweden in 2013.
Sadly, it doesn't seem to be a full degree on Ronaldo (now that would be something!), but rather a module for fourth year sociology students.
The course will look at Ronaldo's rise, the global phenomenon around him, and other guff like that.
Having sat through some mind-numbing sociology lectures in college, which were basically eulogies to Morrissey and The Smiths, this doesn't actually seem like such a crazy idea.
