Xabi Alonso knows all about great nights at Anfield.
The Bayern Munich man played in the famous game in 2004 that saw Liverpool beat Olympiakos 3-1 thanks in no small port to that memorable Steven Gerrard goal which booked their place in the latter stages of the Champions League.
That season ended with a comeback win in Istanbul against AC Milan, and perhaps Alonso is hoping something similar can take place this year.
The midfield mastro was an interested spectator tonight as his old team swept past Borussia Dortmund to a famous 4-3 win to book a spot in the last four of the Europa League, after coming back from 2-0 down in the second half.
The late header from Dejan Lovren means the Reds will be in Friday morning's semi-final draw, and Alonso had just one thing to share on his Twitter after the 90 minutes
