47 year-old Kazuyoshi Miura has signed a new one year deal with FC Yokohama, further extending his reign as the world's oldest active professional footballer. The former Japanese international has made four appearances for the side currently in J League division two and began his career in 1986 with Santos in Brazil. The striker has played on four continents and for 15 teams, including Genoa twenty years ago, Dinamo Zagreb and Sydney Fc. He also had a failed trial with English side Bournemouth in 1999. Miura may not be a household name on this side of the globe but is a hero in his homeland. Known as 'King Kazu', the striker scored 55 goals in 89 games for Japan between 1990 and 2000.
