We could end up seeing a 38-year-old Zlatan Ibrahimovic leading the line for Manchester United

When Zlatan Ibrahimovic agreed to join the Jose Mourinho project at Old Trafford, most fans assumed that it would be a mere dalliance with the Premier League.

Set to turn 35 in October, Ibrahimovic's one-year contract with Manchester United seemed about right. But the veteran centre-forward has since revealed that he may remain a United player into his late thirties. Ahead of the Red Devils' Premier League season opener, Ibrahimovic has claimed that it's very possible that he stays at Old Trafford for three years which, given the shape he's in, would not exactly be surprising. "Turning down a challenge does not exist in my world," he told Sky Sports. "I have been in every country, now England, and this is why I find the adventure cool. I came, I won, I went. Hopefully I can do the same here. "I don't believe there is anyone who could say 'no' to Manchester United. "Even the name sounds cool. It's massive. It's top level. I played for Barcelona and also for Juventus and Milan, it's the same thing, but I think this could be one step more. "Let's see what happens. You never know. It could be more than two (years), it could be more than three, let's see how long I feel like I can perform. "I will not be somewhere only because I am Ibrahimovic.
