Toronto FC striker Sebastian Giovinco proved that there's more to MLS than simply acting as a retirement home for footballers as he came up with a first touch from heaven to score his side's first goal of the game. Saturday night's clash with Vancouver turned into a 4-3 classic in favour of the Whitecaps but the pick of the goals went Giovinco's way as he wonderfully set himself up to score Toronto's opener. With a long ball sent to the edge of the 18 yard box by right back Damien Perquis, Giovinco sumptuously cushioned it behind the momentum of Vancouver centre-back Tim Parker. With nothing to do but shoot, the Italian international coolly slotted home into the bottom corner to drag Toronto back into the game. And while the result went against him, he'll always have bragging rights over Parker for this bamboozling first touch.
