VIDEO: Roberto Mancini’s reaction to being called ‘faggot’ and ‘poof’ by Napoli manager

If Roberto Mancini is on the level here, fair play to him for standing up to some cretinous behaviour.

Inter Milan beat Napoli 2-0 in their TIM cup clash, last night, and there was some serious friction on the sidelines. Television cameras caught sight of Mancini clashing with Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri on the sidelines. The pair had an acrimonious coming together and had to be separated by the fourth official. Post-match, Mancini did not hold back, or sugar-coat, when asked about his clash with Sarri. Mancini said:

"The confrontation on the touchline? You have to ask Sarri about that, he is a racist. "People like him do not belong in football. He used racist words. I stood up to ask about the five minutes being added on and Sarri shouted ‘poof’ and ‘faggot’ at me. I would be proud to be that if he is what’s considered a man. "People like him should not be in football. He is 60 years old. "The fourth official heard but didn’t say anything. He came to see me in the changing room to apologise but he should really be ashamed of himself."

Sarri was also asked about the incident but told reporters he could not exactly recall what he said. He added that 'what is said on the pitch should stay on the pitch'.
