After failing to get their first choice, Valencia settled for Gary Neville as their new manager.
Valencia tried to lure Ryan Giggs before pursuing Neville, but the Manchester United legend declined as he believes he's next in line to take over from Louis van Gaal, according to the Daily Mail.
Giggs was reportedly top of the shortlist of replacements for Nuno Espirito Santo and was personally recommended by Valencia owner Peter Lim, the joint owner of Salford City with the Class of 92.
Members of the Valencia board were sussing out the situation of Manchester United’s current second in command once they knew Lim was thinking of an Old Trafford connection.
However, the paper claims that sources close to Giggs confirmed that he was content in seeing out his contract as Van Gaal’s assistant.
