Finn Park is in pretty good nick these days but not good enough for referee John McLoughlin.

Finn Harps and Wexford Youths were all set for an SSE Airtricity League First Division match, in Donegal, on Friday until the ref put his boots down. McLoughlin, who was accompanied onto the pitch by FAI match delegate Pat Deering, was unhappy at the size of some divots on Harps' pitch. He would not let the game go ahead until they were filled in. 'You could put your whole heel into some of them – it was very dangerous underfoot,' Deering told Donegal News, post-match. The game was held up for almost 10 minutes until a wheelbarrow was located and filled with sand. The 1,000-odd supporters in attendance found the delay somwhere between annoying and amusing. The bizarre scenes were captured by Chris McNulty from the newspaper. https://twitter.com/chrismcnulty86/status/609432055462674432 When the game eventually kicked off, Wexford were too good for their hosts. Andrew Mulligan netted a brace for Youths and Danny Furlong was also on the score-sheet.
