There’s only one problem with Jose Mourinho’s next major signing – Manchester United fans don’t want him

Jose Mourinho is a canny operator in the transfer market. Granted he has been known to sell some very talented players who have flourished elsewhere, but that's more to do with how suitable they are to his systems, rather than whether he rates them or not. When it comes to buying talent, the Portuguese's hit rate is higher than most. He was in Croatia during the international break, and the strong rumours from multiple sources are that he is after Inter Milan's Ivan Perisic, who is currently enjoying the most consistent form of his career in Serie A. Indeed, he is said to have met with Perisic 'face to face', along with the player's agent Predrag Mijatovic, whom Mourinho knows well. It is easy to see why the Manchester United manager would be keen to sign the 28-year-old. He a tall, powerful winger who has excellent stamina, tracks back and works extremely hard, and scores goals by ghosting in to the far post area from the left wing. Although he won't come cheap - Inter are demanding an 'obscene' fee in the region of £45/50m. There's just one problem - dismayed Manchester United fans everywhere simply do not want him to join the club. There are various reasons for this. These range from his age, the fact that they feel he is somewhere between 'average' and 'shit', the fear that it could mean Anthony Martial leaving, and generally they just don't like the cut of his jib.
