Following Arsenal's midweek visit to Gander Green Lane, their FA Cup hopes have gone.
Wayne Shaw, the club's reserve goalkeeper, is also gone after his decision to scoff a pie during the late stages of the televised game drastically backfired.
As a result, there was no goalkeeper on the Sutton bench as they visited Torquay on Saturday afternoon. A risk, but one they couldn't exactly do too much about.
And anyway, the chances of first choice goalkeeper Ross Worner not finishing the game were slim, right?

Wrong.
With not even four minutes played, Worner was injured.
Despite this, he attempted to play on... only for Torquay to take the lead ten minutes later.

Enough was enough.
Worner came off with Bedsenté Gomis - a midfielder - coming on. According to a since-deleted tweet from Sutton, Simon Downer - usually a defender - went in goal for Sutton.
You couldn't script it.
