There was one tiny problem with West Ham’s good luck message to Andre Ayew

Before it kicked off at the London Stadium on Saturday afternoon (the football, that is), West Ham's joint chairman David Gold went out of his way to wish the players the best of luck ahead of their match with Stoke City.

After a busy couple of weeks comparing the club's stadium dilemma to the moon landings and moaning about daylight saving time a video shared by the club's official Twitter account showed Gold shaking hands with several of the Hammers' players as they made their way on to the field of play for the warm-up. After a brief handshake and pat on the back for Dimitri Payet, Gold can be heard wishing Andre Ayew well for the match ahead. As pointed out by the tweet, Ayew, a summer signing from Swansea City, was making his full Premier League debut in the match... https://twitter.com/WestHamUtd/status/794909003818160129?lang=en  But hang on a minute... what's this? https://twitter.com/tomvictor/status/794909519432323072 As pointed out by many, Ayew did indeed start in West Ham's first match of the season against Chelsea back in August, meaning his full Premier League debut for the club came a full three months ago.
