The Raheem Sterling transfer saga has entered ‘being spotted in an estate agents’ territory

The should Raheem Sterling stay or should he go question has been raging on Liverpool for weeks ever since the winger placed talks over a new contract on hold. Liverpool are adamant that the player is going nowhere this summer and Sterling has never mentioned that he might leave - merely that he won't be signing a new deal at this moment in time. Thousands and thousands of words have been written and spoken about what might happen next but none provided as much concrete evidence as the latest nugget to emerge from this saga. Because it was now it has emerged that Sterling is preparing to put his house on Merseyside on the market and is looking to buy a property in, wait for it, London. The Mail report (more or less) that Sterling has been packing up boxes and feeling nostalgic in his Southport home, though he has yet to decide if he will rent it or sell it. And never mind that buying a property in London is the exact kind of thing people with a fair bit of cash tend to do. Because it clearly all means that he's joining Chelsea or Arsenal. As transfer rumours go it's not quite up there with Zinedine Zidane being spotted looking in an estate agent's window on the Wirral.
