Despite improvements in goal-line technology and extra officials on hand to help them out, judging whether or not a player is trying to deceive them to win a decision can be very difficult.

Referee Andre Marriner was in charge of Everton's goal-filled meeting with Sunderland at Goodison Park.
With the home side's Gerard Deulofeu clearly unhappy with Marriner's failure to award him a penalty, the camera switches to the referee.
The lens is barely trained on him for a couple of seconds, but some appear to think that Marriner can be seen mouthing the phrase "f**king cheat".
