The gates were put in place less than a year after the legendary Liverpool manager Bill Shankly passed away in 1981 and were unlocked by his wife, Nessie.
They will be returned to their rightful place after the construction work at Anfield, which will increase the stadium's capacity by 8,500, finishes.
