Sam Allardyce smirks after he’s asked about frustrated Everton supporters

Everton manager Sam Allardyce smirked when he was asked about fans booing his decision to substitute Gylfi Sigurðsson during the final minutes of the Toffees 2-1 defeat to Burnley on Saturday.

The Toffees were also booed off the pitch by their travelling supporters following the final whistle with Allardyce seemingly unfazed by their frustrations with his personnel decisions. Meanwhile Ireland captain and Everton defender Seamus Coleman said that his side crumbled in the second-half and that they needed to start winning games quickly given that they sit just seven points above the relegation zone. "We came here knowing they hadn’t won in a while, and we got a great start. But it was nowhere near good enough to crumble like we did and something we really need to sort out and start winning games very quickly," said Coleman post-match. "We should be coming here, especially with the form they were in, looking for three points. And we didn’t get that so we’re all very disappointed. But it needs to change very quickly. "Individually we weren’t good enough. And Burnley were getting second balls when we should have been challenging them. "All in all it wasn’t good enough by us and there’s no excuse for that and we know that we have to do better. "We need to show some desire first and foremost and show that we want it. We need to work harder than the opposition and today I don’t think we did that."
