As you would expect, Louis van Gaal is facing the blunt of the criticism after Manchester United's disaster showing in the Champions League.

However, the usually caustic Roy Keane is refusing to lay the blame at the manager's door. Instead he has lambasted the players for letting down themselves and the club. Speaking on ITV's Champions League highlights show, Keane suggested that the players were 'hiding' behind Van Gaal, and not taking on the responsibility themselves: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6WikT7Zecg The Man United legend singled out former colleague Michael Carrick for the concession of United's third goal against Wolfsburg. He argued that there was a lack of passion, leadership and character in the team: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RAQPDstsE30 Keane's main argument was that managers get far too much credit when a team is doing well, and too much criticism when it is not. He felt the senior, experienced heads in the United dressing room were letting down their younger teammates: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbMOEXSnsA8
