Real Madrid star Toni Kroos posted a New Year message to his Twitter followers that caused quite a storm among fans of Germany and Brazil:

It is of course a reference to the 2014 World Cup semi-final when Germany humiliated Brazil on their own turf, winning 7-1 on their way to lifting the trophy that year.
It got 170,000 retweets as his German fans loved it - and his Brazilian followers felt exactly the opposite. But perhaps he wasn't expecting it to blow up in quite the manner it did.

But today Brazil legend (or if you prefer 'Original') Ronaldo hit back with a message of his own:
This version - in which he tags Kroos - is a reference to the 2002 World Cup final when Ronaldo and co saw off Germany 2-0 to lift the trophy.
So let's call that 1-1 then boys, shall we?
