AS Roma, as you'll know by now, came mighty close to signing Brazilian winger Malcom earlier this summer. A fee was agreed with Bordeaux for the player, who was expected to take a flight to Rome to conduct his medical and sign his contract. This, however, didn't happen. Instead, an eleventh-hour intervention from Barcelona saw Malcom end up at the Camp Nou, much to the annoyance of Roma's owner. Remember this bit. It's important for what follows. It was announced on Tuesday that Kevin Strootman had left Roma for Marseille, the French club announcing the transfer with a Fortnite-inspired video.
