Celtic fan Rod Stewart makes donation to fund for Rangers supporter killed in bus crash

Rod Stewart has made a donation to a fund set up for a Rangers supporter who died in a bus crash at the weekend.

Thirty-nine-year-old Ryain Baird, from County Antrim in Northern Ireland, died when the bus he was on crashed at a roundabout on the A76. Mr Baird had been travelling to Ibrox on Saturday afternoon to watch Rangers play their match against Partick Thistle. Having heard about the incident, Stewart, a Celtic supporter, contacted former Rangers captain Richard Gough. Speaking to the Evening Times, Gough said: "As soon as it happened Rod got in touch with me and said as soon as a fund was set up I was to let him know. Which I did. "He made a contribution, which is fantastic, which I have thanked him for. He is a good man." In his message to Gough, Stewart said: 'At sad times like this we are one big football loving family. RS(Celtic).' A total of 36 passengers are said to have been on the bus at the time of the crash. 18 people were also left in hospital following the accident and have since been visited by Rangers players.
