Following numerous reports that Louis van Gaal needed to be talked out of resigning by Ed Woodward at the end of last year, it seems he is determined to cut short his Old Trafford tenure. The Mirror report that the beleaguered Dutchman is considering walking out on Manchester United at the end of this season - a year before his contract was due to expire. Interestingly, the report suggests that Jose Mourinho is the favoured man to replace the 64-year-old, with current number two Ryan Giggs unlikely to be considered for the top job.
