Video: Raheem Sterling’s wish for a song on the Kop came true last night

And there we all were, thinking Raheem Sterling was after - in no particular order - money and trophies. Oh no, as the Stone Roses once sang, the young English attacker wants to be adored. Sterling, in an intriguing interview in The Sunday Times, has signalled that he may be ready to sign a new contract with Liverpool. If and when he does, he would like 'Pool fans to sing about it from the rooftops. He says, 'When the crowd is with you, there is nothing better. My ambition is to have my own song from the Kop. 'Last season I loved the song for Luis Suarez; Steven Gerrard and Philippe Coutinho have good ones too.' UPDATE: Sterling, and his agent, got that song at Anfield last night. It was a touch on the NSFW side too. In his ST interview, Sterling goes on to talk about his early days at Liverpool after his switch from QPR. 'I was 15 when I signed to Liverpool’s youth team, and I have to admit I was starstruck. The first time I saw Stevie I thought he was a fake. I couldn’t believe he was real and not a waxwork. Sterling adds, 'My debut came when I was 17, against Wigan. I was first out on the pitch and I couldn’t wait to get on the ball.
