Proving he’s not all doom and gloom, Jose Mourinho cracks Dwight Yorke joke while discussing Manchester United attack

During the build-up to Manchester United's game at Bournemouth, Jose Mourinho was in a fairly jovial mood.

The United boss gave his usual pre-match interview to BT Sport. It's difficult to predict whether Mourinho is going to smile, scoff or scowl at a reporter asking him a question about his team selection but, on Wednesday night, he was in fine form. "The message is always the same," Mourinho said.

"I understand that people probably sometimes in the stadium or at home can be a bit confused with my message, because sometimes my message is not what people think it is. But in the last match for example, the only attacking player I didn't play was Dwight Yorke, he was in the stands, and I almost bring him on. I put six at the same time and Dwight was almost fit. But the message sometimes is different what people think, so let's see."

Balance is everything and, at times, United have struggled to find one this season. That is the challenge that lies ahead for the Portuguese tactician. Mourinho hopes that United can get back on track with a win at Bournemouth following their shock 1-0 home defeat to West Brom on Sunday. Mourinho made seven changes to his line-up, with some players rested ahead of the FA Cup semi-final clash with Tottenham this weekend and others dropped following a poor display against the Baggies.
