The return of courageous Davitt Walsh was marked in moving style on Sunday.

Walsh had not played football since the distressing events of the Buncrana pier tragedy in March. The former Finn Harps, Shelbourne and Bohemians striker continues to be hailed as a hero after he saved the life of a baby when a car slid from the pier in Buncrana and five people lost their lives. Walsh dived into the water and rescued baby Rionaghac-Ann from drowning in an act of heroism marked by both set sets of players when Fanad United played Derry City Reserves at Triagh-A-Locha this weekend. https://twitter.com/FanadUtdFc/status/726847206645501952 Walsh's return to field for Fanad United was met with a deserved guard of honour as both teams applauded his outstanding bravery after what must have been a difficult number of weeks for he and his girlfriend.
