Highly rated Ivory Coast winger Nicolas Pepe ‘talking to Liverpool’

Conflicting reports about Liverpool's interest.

Liverpool are said to be holding discussions with Lille's highly rated winger, Nicolas Pepe. Though it has recently been reported by the Liverpool Echo that the European champions are yet to make contact with the Ligue 1 club about Pépé, Mohamed Bouhafsi of RMC Sport insists this is not the case. According to one of his tweets, conversations between the two clubs have already taken place, something which he says Lille have confirmed off the record. He also adds that the 24-year-old is now holding talks with Liverpool, though they are not the only club to show interest in the player. https://twitter.com/mohamedbouhafsi/status/1137678388188069888?s=12 Pépé, an Ivory Coast international, has managed 22 goals for his club during the 2018/19 campaign, helping them finish runners-up to Paris Saint-Germain in the French top flight. If he does move to Anfield this summer, some reports have claimed the Reds will have to stump up as much as £70 million in order to persuade Lille to sell. Reports in the press have also linked Manchester United and Arsenal with Nicolas Pepe.
