Former Ireland boss Mick McCarthy has added more fuel to the fire in his years-long feud with Roy Keane.
Such was the cultural impact of Keane getting sent home from Saipan by McCarthy ahead of 2002 World Cup, that the film based on the events has garnered huge attention.
However, McCarthy is far from being a fan of the movie.
At a live event, he was asked how long he stayed watching before leaving.
McCarthy replied: “20 minutes?
“My family and I all went to look at it, and it’s a heap of s**t to be fair, and my concern is, he’s about 5ft 8in, Steve Coogan, and in the film Roy towers above him for f*** sake.
“And yes, I did speak to him (Coogan), because I got asked, but then I seen in one of the Irish newspapers that I coached him — no I f*****g didn’t coach him.
“That’s that journalist reporting that. I spoke to him about what happened, and if Roy wants to speak to him about that . . . but I don’t think he ever did.”
He continued: “It depicts me as an easy-going, northern numpty who was there for a f*****g good time and not to win, and I wasn’t competitive.
“If anyone wants to come and f*****g tell me that, I’ll have a fight with him on the f*****g stage.”
He then went on to tell a great anecdote about his former players Roy Keane and Robbie Keane.
McCarthy said: "I do these Q&As, and the last one I did I got asked about Keane.
"I said 'come on, he's a fabulous player, great captain, captain of his club, everywhere he's been he has done fantastic, great goalscorer'. Then everybody is looking at me.
"I said 'oh I'm on about Robbie, the other fella is a ****'."
