German newspaper Bild report that Ozil was seen in The Pearl nightclub in the German capital on Saturday night, despite missing the win away to Newcastle, after complaining of being sick.
Being an International week, the player was due to fly home to Germany regardless of his participation in the Newcastle game and link up with his German teammates, but after missing out with a sickness, it probably may have been best to hit the cot with a lemsip rather than go do a Ferris Bueller on it.
After the club's record signing phoned in sick ahead of the trip to the north east, a lesser man would make a joke about phoning in performances. I am not that man, however.
Still, at least he wasn't smoking. We know how that grates in North London...
