Mauricio Pochettino: We have an unsettled group at Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has said that his group has become unsettled due to the European transfer market still being open.

Spurs defender Jan Vertonghen and midfielder Christian Eriksen have both been linked with moves away from London and Pochettino said that he'll be happy once the European transfer market shuts at the end of this month.

"I cannot say or find excuses, the transfer market is open, to justify that performance or result today," Pochettino told Sky Sports. "For different circumstances, this season, we have an unsettled group of different players for different personal circumstance that we cannot find the way to be solid or to have consistency. "We need to be strong in the way we need to create the dynamic to follow a very difficult season of Premier League and Champions League. "I don't want to twist my words and go 'oh Mauricio is going to justify the result because of this'. That is a point we took before the season and today we need to keep going. "Of course, I'm going to be happy in 10 days after the transfer market in Europe shuts and we are going to have to look after the players involved until the transfer market opens again in January."

“The squad is still unsettled. We’ll have to wait until the transfer windows close in Europe to see which players we are going to have. That is never easy. “We still need to wait to see what happens with our squad. Maybe some players are still in a situation where things can happen. We are not a closed squad where nobody is going to move. Maybe nobody will move. The circumstances are that things are still open. “The market in Europe makes things difficult in the way that we work and this type of situation doesn’t help the coaching staff to create a good dynamic.”
