Mauricio Pochettino reveals that Luke Shaw cried down the phone to him after horror injury

Luke Shaw has experienced the kind of injury history that should never be endured by a 20-year-old.

The Manchester United left back saw his stellar start to his second season under Louis van Gaal come to an end when he suffered a horrific double leg fracture in a challenge from PSV's Hector Moreno on Tuesday night.

Van Gaal gave an estimated time-frame of four to six months for Shaw's recovery in what comes as a huge blow for the club, but an even bigger setback for the player. And Shaw's former manager Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that the full back was brought to tears by the injury when the Argentine phoned Shaw in hospital on Wednesday. "It is difficult, I spoke with him this morning," Pochettino said. "He is much better today but it is always difficult with this type of injury. "I only give my support and wish him a speedy recovery, but now he must only think about the recovery. "Always it is difficult, he was crying. It's normal, you can understand after the big injury that was yesterday - not only because of the pain but everything around it."
