This is why football clubs should never attempt banter. Ever.

On Christmas Day of all days, Manchester United's official Twitter account tried to board the banterbus, destination Lolsville, but instead they were quite rightly lambasted for their shocking efforts.A Twitter user, quite fittingly called @KillingJoke, asked the club account the random question 'Batman or Superman?' - what followed was a response so tepid and weak in any form of humour that it had grown men weeping into their cold turkey. https://twitter.com/ManUtd/status/680374144563834880 'There's only one Man... United,' was the response.colin farrell See, that was even painful for us to quote just then. It's not even a joke. It's an insult to every value we hold dear as a nation. It's an abomination. A travesty. And many agree. https://twitter.com/Schweiniction/status/680374285647515648 https://twitter.com/Blame_Suarez/status/680415733046718465 https://twitter.com/UtdSeyi/status/680399446908256256 https://twitter.com/___IA22/status/680377611273412608 https://twitter.com/Mikkzlawal/status/680375555095674881 https://twitter.com/Dylan_MUFC7/status/680379188046594048 https://twitter.com/Uzair_oomer/status/680389714583629824 https://twitter.com/A_RazzaqLFC/status/680378591994097664 Even '@KillingJoke' wasn't impressed... https://twitter.com/KiIlingJoke/status/680375496765472768
