Manchester United are more used to shopping at super clubs like Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Bayern Munich for their players.
But excellence can be found anywhere within the game and the Red Devils are now looking to the lowly reaches of the Scottish third division for their next potential signing.
Matthew Knox is just 17-years-old and plays for Livingston - who are currently top of Scottish League One - but on Monday he will travel south of the border for a third trial with United, according to the Daily Record.
Knox, who became the youngest player ever for Livingston at the age of just 16 years and four days on Boxing Day last year, has been on the radar of a host of top clubs and has had trials at Tottenham, Liverpool and Everton.
Rangers have already had a £75,000 bid rejected by Livingston and it will cost Manchester United double that amount if Jose Mourinho decides to sign him permanently after he has seen him train alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba, Wayne Rooney and co.
Knox signed a new two-and-a-half year deal with Livingston earlier in December but the club is unlikely to stand in his way if United decide they want to sign him.
Boss David Hopkin said: "It's a great honour for him to be training with the team [Manchester United] and be invited down again.
"He must have done something to impress him last time. He's handled everything great here and he's a real talent."
