Manchester United agree fee for Romelu Lukaku and drop interest in Alvaro Morata

Wow.
Many assumed it was idle speculation. A way of showing Real Madrid that Manchester United had other irons in the fire apart from Alvaro Morata. Or perhaps Everton trying to smoke out interest from Chelsea. But it looks like it's happening - Romelu Lukaku to Old Trafford. The BBC are reporting that Mourinho's men have agreed a circa £75m fee with Everton for their Belgium international striker. Not only that but they appear to have DROPPED their interest in Alvaro Morata. The deal is so progressed that Steve Stone of the Beeb says United hope to have the deal concluded by Sunday. The reception will be mixed from United fans. Some will welcome the emphatic move and see it as their club gazumping Chelsea; others will have preferred Morata and feel that Lukaku is a less exciting acquisition.
