Manchester United could be returning to a grey away kit if this ‘leaked’ image is anything to go by

With this football season nearing its end, it's only natural that some are looking ahead to the next one.

While many are getting excited about summer transfers that will probably never happen, others are using social media to circulate poor quality images of the kits that various teams might (or might not) be wearing come the start of 2017/2018. As ever, some of these designs are more believable than others. With that in mind, it's worth making clear that we have a strong suspicion that latest one to be doing the rounds - supposedly Manchester United's next away strip - is a fake. Why? Well, for a start, it's not like United's last grey away kit - one which drew inspiration from a badly-tuned television set - went down particularly well. Also, this latest 'leaked' design is, for want of a better phrase, a bit shit. We're absolutely certain that Adidas, a brand that didn't get to being one of the world's leading sportswear manufacturers by chance, wouldn't have sanctioned this. In truth, the predominantly light grey shirt wouldn't look too bad at all if it weren't for its main feature - a huge silhouette of the statue of George Best, Denis Law and Sir Bobby Charlton which stands outside Old Trafford's East Stand. https://twitter.com/EsFutbol_Ingles/status/846414661843128321
