For many, Gabriel Jesus is Brazil's most exciting young talent since Santos produced a certain Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior. As such, Manchester City's recent acquisition of the Palmeiras player amidst rumoured competition from Barcelona and Bayern Munich was seen as something of a coup. That said, his performance for Brazil during their opening game of the Rio Olympics did little to justify his rising star. The team were held to a goalless draw by 10-man South Africa in a performance that was booed by a thoroughly unimpressed crowd at the Mane Garrincha Stadium. https://twitter.com/ManCity/status/760852862524088321 But it was Jesus who provided the most embarrassing moment of the game, with a quite hideous miss that would make Ronnie Rosenthal blush. With just over 20 minutes remaining on the clock, a cross from the left side of the area evaded the South African keeper and found itself to the youngster. Unmarked and with the net demanding to bulge, poor Gabriel only went and hit the post when it would have been easier to score.
