Liverpool have obviously decided that the quotes, which are still running on the Standard's website and appeared in their Thursday evening print edition, are genuine and feel there is no point going into talks if their mind is already made up.
Ward is also alleged to have ripped into Jamie Carragher for criticising Sterling's behaviour.
“Carragher is a knob," he is quoted as saying.
"Everybody knows it. Any of the criticism from current pundits or ex-Liverpool players – none of them things matter to me. It is not relevant.”
And so the saga continues. The worst part is that technically we're still in the Raheem Sterling contract saga stage.
