Why did they delete it?

Most official football club Twitter accounts don't do humour very well. More often than not, any attempt at being funny comes across as trying way too hard and just plain cringeworthy. There's a reason why every other reply simply states: 'Delete'. However, on one of the rare occasions when a club did actually show some genuine personality and self-awareness, they went and removed it of their own accord. We can't for the life of us figure out why. As we've previously mentioned, the "Melwood Lean" has become something of a tradition at Anfield. Whenever a new signing was announced, they were pictured casually leaning on something - and sometimes on nothing at all. But there was a phasing out of the much mocked pose with the recent arrivals of Sadio Mane and Ragnar Klavan. They weren't shown to be leaning but looking wistfully out at the training facilities. https://twitter.com/LFC/status/755731510519627776?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw But upon signing Gini Wijnaldum for £25m from Newcastle United, the Liverpool Twitter account decided to have some fun at their own expense by making reference to the Melwood Lean and have Wijnaldum resting in the famous stance. It's safe to say the fans loved this unusual example of an actually funny gag. https://twitter.com/DaveOCKOP/status/756549358938648576 https://twitter.com/ClassyClyne/status/756549597535887360 https://twitter.com/Kloppomaniacs/status/756550005700329472
