Four and a half years and Liverpool at last feel like they have gotten their own back.
Raheem Sterling looks set for a big-money move - nay, ridiculous money move - to Manchester City with news this evening that both clubs have agreed a fee.
At £49m though, Liverpool's 20-year-old English international will become the second dearest British player of all time. Of all time.
And, after a season that failed to live up to the heights he hit during the Reds' title assault in 2013/14, after a lot of questionable antics to seemingly force a move away from Anfield, the Scousers are confident that they are getting the better deal in letting Sterling leave the club and take an outrageous sum of money off City's hands for him.
It's also helping to ease the load that still haunts them from when they splashed £35m of the Fernando Torres money on Andy Carroll in one of the best bits of businesses Newcastle United have ever managed.
Now, Liverpool are the ones who are producing the magic in the negotiation stakes and the fans are delighted after Carroll-gate.
