Having failed to take full advantage of Manchester City's slip-up at Newcastle United last week by drawing their games with Leicester and West Ham, Liverpool could lose top spot in the Premier League to Pep Guardiola's side by the end of Wednesday night (even though they'll still have played one fewer game than City).
Everton stand in the way of City returning to the Premier League summit as they welcome the current champions to Goodison Park. Some Evertonians, however, have mixed feelings about the game. Whereas their own team's recent form means they'd probably welcome a win, the fact it might hand a massive title boost to Liverpool means that plenty of them - as one guy on Sky Sports made clear earlier in the day - would be happy to wait another few days for it...
