Roy Keane “wants to be Celtic boss” after two years away from management

Roy Keane is - reportedly, at least - itching to get back into the world of football management after spending two years as a pundit. The Irishman has become a popular an extremely entertaining member of Sky Sports' live coverage in recent months, be it for his blossoming bromance with Micah Richards or his ability to get right under people's skin. Cough. Jamie Redknapp. Cough, cough. But, in the words of Echo and the Bunnymen, nothing ever lasts forever, and Roy's desire to get back to management means he is willing to turn his back on the Sky studio, with the vacancy at Celtic of particular interest. Keane played for Celtic for a short while towards the end of his playing career and is said to have been offered the position in the past before turning it down. According to The Sun, Celtic's board are keen to stick with their current coaching staff and appoint a figurehead, with Keane potentially sees as a good fit. Neil Lennon stepped down from his post as manager weeks ago, with Rangers fist title success in a decade all but mathematically secured at the time. Appearing on Sky as Rangers' triumph was confirmed, Keane chose not to congratulate Steven Gerrard's side on ending Celtic's nine-year reign as Scottish champions. Other candidates for the Celtic job are said to be former Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe,  ex-Scotland manager Steve Clarke and David Moyes, who is currently overseeing an impressive campaign for West Ham.
