Jurgen Klopp issues warning to German TV station for silly Europa League stunt

Probably not the best ever move on their behalf. But saying that, we probably would have tuned it.

Jurgen Klopp's return to Germany has caused a right kerfuffle in the local media ahead of tonight's Europa league clash between Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool. Look at the amount of flash photography he had to put up with yesterday at his press conference ahead of the game at the Westfalenstadion. https://twitter.com/JamesPearceEcho/status/717747866664628224?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw Klopp spoke to the media yesterday, but one German TV station got the cold shoulder after the Reds boss learned of their TV coverage plans for tonight. It has been reported that German channel Sport1 were going to fix a camera on Klopp for the entire game, to capture his manic and frantic reactions. However, Klopp learned of the stunt at Wednesday's press conferenc,e and threatened to never talk to the station again if it goes ahead.

"That’s the first time I have heard about it. You see how crazy the world is?! They can’t put a camera in my face. I know the way in Dortmund – off the bus, into the dressing room and no-one allowed in, only us. “I don’t play. If someone is silly enough to want to see my face for 90 minutes during a game I cannot change the world. “I can’t believe it is like this but if it is true I have to think about whether I will really talk with this television station in my life again. I’m pretty sure I will not, if I don’t have to. “Maybe they will think about that because I have done a few interviews with them until now. But that’s how it is. I know I am only one part of the game but if people around me act differently I can’t change that and I don’t care about it.”

We imagine the executive who had the bright idea is feeling rather silly this morning, although we do have to say we're disappointed, as it would have been a very interesting experiment.
