A report in The Times claims that the club have taken the unusual step as Terry considers the one year contract extension he was offered on Friday. League officials are reluctant to set a precedence by allowing Terry to do so. Terry attended the club's end of season dinner on Friday night where the likes of former players Gianluca Vialli and Frank Lampard paid tribute to him. According to reports, Terry was too emotional to take to the stage and couldn't hold back the tears.
