January transfer window 2015: Who’s in, who’s out and who might still move

Chelsea were at the centre of the biggest deals on what turned out to be an underwhelming transfer deadline day.

The Premier League leaders strengthened their title challenge with the arrival of Colombian World Cup star Juan Cuadrado from Fiorentina for more than £23million, funding the move by parting with Germany international Andre Schurrle, who has joined Wolfsburg, and Mohamed Salah, who is on his way to Florence on loan as part of the Cuadrado deal. There were several other deals involving Premier League clubs, with Wilfried Zaha returning to Palace on a permanent deal for a fraction of the fee Manchester United paid for him two years ago. Aaron Lennon joined Everton on loan, while Robert Huth moved from Stoke to bottom side Leicester and Southampton added Benfica midfielder Filip Djuricic, also on loan. There was little in the way of last-minute drama, with Chelsea full-back Ryan Bertrand turning his loan deal at Southampton into a permanent move for a reported £10million and Hull finally completing a £3million deal for Lokomotiv Moscow forward Dame N'Doye. Elsewhere, Emmanuel Adebayor was a target for both West Ham and QPR but Tottenham could not find a deal they liked. Carlton Cole's proposed move to West Brom collapsed as a result of Sam Allardyce's failure to bring in Adebayor, but Tony Pulis did succeed in snaring midfielder Darren Fletcher from United. United were also behind arguably the strangest move of deadline day when they beat the clock to sign defender Andy Kellett from Bolton on loan. One deal that didn't take place though, was Rickie Lambert's move to Aston Villa. Villa were reportedly prepared to pay at least £5million for the England man but the striker turned down the move to stay at boyhood club Liverpool. Here is the full list of January comings and goings:

Arsenal

In Krystian Bielik (Legia Warsaw) £2.5m Gabriel (Villarreal) £11.2m https://twitter.com/Arsenal/status/561196053413003265 Out Lukas Podolski (Inter Milan) Loan Matt Macey (Accrington Stanley) Loan Yaya Sanogo (Crystal Palace) Loan Benik Afobe (Wolverhampton Wanderers) Undisclosed Joel Campbell (Villarreal) Loan Arsenal still need a top class defensive-minded midfielder, (as usual) but it looks like any such move won't happen today.

Aston Villa

In Carles Gil (Valencia) £3.25m Scott Sinclair (Man City) Loan Aston Villa v AFC Bournemouth - FA Cup Fourth Round Out Darren Bent (Derby County) Loan Jordan Graham (Wolverhampton Wanderers) Undisclosed Gary Gardner (Nottingham Forest) Loan Daniel Johnson (Preston North End) Undisclosed Chris Herd (Wigan Athletic) Loan Callum Robinson (Preston) Loan Aston Villa needed some a creative spark and it appears Carles Gil has provided it. If they can now just get Christian Benteke (or anyone) scoring goals. From a (potentially) Irish perspective, it would have been nice to see Jack Grealish go out on loan. Burnley In Michael Keane (Manchester United) Undisclosed Out

Chelsea

In Juan Cuadrado (Fiorentina) £23.3m ACF Fiorentina v AS Roma - Serie A Out Andre Schurrle (Wolfsburg) £22m Ryan Bertrand (Southampton) £10m Mohamed Salah (Fiorentina) Loan Fernando Torres (Atletico Madrid) Undisclosed Mark Schwarzer (Leicester City) Free Lewis Baker (Sheffield Wednesday) Loan Todd Kane (Nottingham Forest) Loan John Swift (Swindon Town) Loan Alex Kiwomya (Barnsley) Loan Tomas Kalas (Middlesbrough) Loan Marko Marin (Anderlecht) Loan Nathan Chalobah (Reading) Loan Chelsea look to have done some smart business. Jose Mourinho never seemed fully convinced by Andre Schurrle or Mohamed Salah and has now effectively traded them for the highly rated Colombian Juan Cuadrado.

Crystal Palace

In Yaya Sanogo (Arsenal) Loan Jordon Mutch (QPR) £4.5m Shola Ameobi (Unattached) Free Wilfried Zaha (Manchester United) £3m Pape Souare (Lille) £3.4m Lee Chung-Yong (Bolton) undisclosed Southampton v Crystal Palace - FA Cup Fourth Round Out Barry Bannan (Bolton) Loan Andrew Johnson Released Zeki Fryers (Rotherham United) Loan Jake Gray (Cheltenham Town) Loan Lewis Price (Crawley Town) Loan Everton

Hanging on to James McCarthy and Seamus Coleman will, however, be a big positive for Roberto Martinez.

Hull City

In Dame N'Doye (Lokomotiv Moscow) £3m Out Tom Ince (Derby) Loan

Leicester City

In Mark Schwarzer (Chelsea) Free Andrej Kramaric (HNK Rijeka) £9m Robert Huth (Stoke City) Loan https://twitter.com/JoeBrewinFFT/status/562221047832133632 Out Jack Barmby (Rotherham United) Loan Tom Hopper (Scunthorpe United) Loan Callum Elder (Mansfield Town) Loan Adam Dawson (Bristol Rovers) Loan

Liverpool

In Out Kevin Stewart (Cheltenham) Loan Lloyd Jones (Cheltenham) Loan Jack Dunn (Cheltenham) Loan Oussama Assaidi (Al Ahli) Undisclosed Suso (AC Milan) Undisclosed Connor Randall (Shrewsbury Town) Loan Sheyi Ojo (Wigan) Loan It's a cliché, but the return of Daniel Sturridge will feel like a new signing for Liverpool. A move for Danny Ings looks set to wait for the summer, but the return of Jordon Ibe from his loan spell at Derby will give Brendan Rodgers another attacking option. The club will also be delighted to see highly-rated propsect Sheyi Ojo get some senior football under his belt.

Manchester City

In Wilfried Bony (Swansea City) £28m Manchester City v Middlesbrough - FA Cup Fourth Round Out Sinan Bytyqi (SC Cambuur) Loan Matija Nastasic (Schalke 04) Loan Devante Cole (MK Dons) Loan Scott Sinclair (Aston Villa) Loan Manchester City have signed Wilfried Bony, one of the best strikers in the Premier League, and he'll join up with squad once the Ivory Coast exits the African Cup of Nations.

Manchester United

In Victor Valdes (Unattached) Free Sadiq El Fitouri (Salford City) Free Andy Kellett (Bolton) Loan Manchester United v Southampton - Premier League Out Wilfried Zaha (Crystal Palace) £3m Anderson (Internacional) Free Jesse Lingard (Derby) Loan Ben Pearson (Barnsley) Loan Sam Johnstone (Preston North End) Michael Keane (Burnley) Undisclosed Will Keane (Sheffield Wednesday) Loan Marnick Vermul (Sheffield Wednesday) Undisclosed Saidy Janko (Bolton) Loan No sign of a central defender, but Manchester United did sign a player from Salford City though. The club will be pleased to have shifted out of favour players such as Wilfried Zaha and Anderson from the wage bill, despite the huge losses on transfer fees paid.

Newcastle United

Sunderland

In Jermain Defoe (Toronto) Undisclosed Tottenham Hotspur v Sunderland - Premier League Out Scott Harrison (Hartlepool) Loan Jozy Altidore (Toronto) Undisclosed Charias Mavrias (Panathinaikos) Sunderland have (they hope) addressed a problem position with the signing of Jermain Defoe, and got rid of Jozy Altidore as part of the deal. Even if Defoe fails to score the goals to drag the side from relegation, finding someone to take Altidore makes the deal an instant success.

Swansea City

In Nelson Oliveira (Benfica) Loan Matt Grimes (Exeter City) £1.75m Kyle Naughton (Tottenham Hotspur) £5m Jack Cork (Southampton) £3m Out Rory Donnelly (Tranmere Rovers) Loan Wilfried Bony (Manchester City) £28m Ryan Hedges (Leyton Orient) Loan
