Reports suggest record-breaking Troy Parrott move is imminent

However, according to reports, it is Championship side West Ham who are the most likely to sign him from Dutch side AZ Alkmaar.

Football agent John Harriott has said on X that a move to the Hammers is imminent, with the reported fee a whopping £30m.

This would beat the record amount paid by a Championship club for a player, and would also set a new Irish transfer record, beating out Nathan Collins' £23m move to Brentford in 2023.

Whether this would be a good decision by the Dubliner remains to be seen. It was hoped by many that a move to the Premier League would materialise, although the lower level will make it easier to keep up the excellent goal-scoring exploits we saw last season.

Nonetheless, he will need to do better than his compatriot Evan Ferguson, who had a hugely disappointing loan spell last season at the London outfit.

If a West Ham move does fall through, he will most likely still be moving on from Alkmaar, with his manager as good as confirming this earlier in the week.
