Galatasaray have transfer listed defender Serdar Aziz after discovering that his reasoning for missing the team's final game of 2018 was an elaborate ploy.
Aziz had claimed that he was unable to play due to an upset stomach, but his plan was exposed by his partner, who committed a social media gaffe.
His wife uploaded an image to her Instagram story from the Maldives, where the pair were on holiday together. The picture featured her husband, who should have been playing in his team's 4-2 win over Sivasspor.
His holiday had already been booked, so he apparently decided to inform the club of a made-up stomach bug in order to shirk his responsibility of representing the Istanbul club.
Needless to say, his escapades did not go down well among Galatasaray fans on social media.

According to
ESPN, the club have now transfer listed Aziz as a result, and his agent has said that they have been told to find a new club.
The club have denied reports that the Turkish international has had his contract terminated.
The 28-year-old has been inconsistent this season with Galatasaray struggling defensively in the league and in Europe. Galatasaray are fifth in the league table, six points behind leaders Istanbul Basaksehir. The Super Lig is on a month long winter break, with league action resuming on January 20.
