Former Tottenham man claims “small team” Arsenal are a long way off winning titles

Not satisfied with dumping Arsenal out of the FA Cup on Sunday, Watford goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes has gone one stage further by branding Arsene Wenger's men a "small team".
The former Spurs goalkeeper was speaking to ESPN Brasil in the aftermath of the 2-1 victory at the Emirates and claimed Arsenal don't look capable of winning a trophy in the near future. “It is the best time to play Arsenal and we came to the match very confident," Gomes said.
“When you see Arsenal playing against big teams, they look like a small team. They don’t look like winning a title soon.
“We knew once we had the ball we’d be able to pass it around since Arsenal gives you too much space. They are not strong defensively.”
The defeat caps a miserable spell for Arsenal supporters. Having recently lost ground on Leicester City in the title race and suffered defeat in the first leg of their Champions League tie with Barcelona, their hopes of securing a trophy are all but over.Explore more on these topics:
