Former Manchester United academy player joins City’s sister club in MLS

One of Manchester United's academy graduates will embark on a career in Major League Soccer after joining New York City FC.

Nineteen-year-old Jack Harrison was picked first in the MLS draft by Chicago Fire, before being traded to Bronx-based NYCFC, the club owned by Manchester City's parent company. https://twitter.com/NYCFC/status/687709131801792517?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw Harrison, a winger, left United's academy and attended a High School in Massachusetts and went on to play college football (soccer) in the States, reports the Manchester Evening News. https://youtu.be/OtR34GwwW28 "It's just a massive whirlwind. Harrison, who is from Bolton, also appears to be relishing the opportunity to work with Patrick Vieira as the former City coach begins his first role as a manager. "Obviously, being coached by Patrick Vieira is an opportunity not many people can say they have. I'm really excited about this new step in my life and I am looking forward to making the most out of it." The MLS season starts in March, with NYCFC one of many teams hoping to replace Portland Timbers as champions.
