Report: England appoint their new manager, and it’s great news for David Moyes

Sam Allardyce is set to be appointed as England manager in the next few days, according to The Evening Standard. The Sunderland manager will succeed Roy Hodgson in the role, who resigned following England's humiliating exit to Iceland in the last-16 of Euro 2016. Allardyce was appointed Sunderland manager last October, and guided the North-East club to Premier League safety last season. According to the report, the Black Cats already have a successor to Big Sam lined-up - David Moyes. The former Manchester United manager has been out of work since being sacked by Real Sociedad last November. Moyes lasted a year in Spain, following his unsuccessful spell at Old Trafford. The 51-year-old was sacked after less than a year in the role, after spending 11 years as Everton manager. Moyes is reportedly in "advanced talks" with Sunderland, who sounded him out for the role once it became clear that Allardyce was set to become England manager.
