This now ends the argument of who can play football better, rock stars or footballers?

In fairness to Cabinteely FC, Muse had the help of some fluid, athletic roadies while the Dubliners were shorn of several first teamers. The SSE Airtricity League First Division side raised several eyebrows, late last month, when they announced they would be taking on Muse, and their travelling crew, before their 3 Arena gig. League of Ireland legend Eddie Gormley dusted off his old boots to line out for the Cabinteely XI in a keenly contested match. Muse bassist Chris Wolstenholme started on opposite sides from his son Alfie, who used to play for Cabinteely. Both men were on the score-sheet in what turned out to be a high scoring game. https://twitter.com/CTWolstenholme/status/717114073087938560 The match ended 9-8 to the touring band. There was a minimal pay-in fee and all money raised with to Doctors Without Borders. Cabinteely should welcome back a host of senior players for this Friday's home game against Cobh Ramblers.
