Roy Keane has said that Arsenal's season will be considered a 'disaster' if they fail to win the Premier League. The former Manchester United captain took issue with Gary Neville's view that the Gunners will have had a successful season even if they finished second behind Manchester City.

The pair were speaking on Sky Sports after Arsenal surrendered a two-goal lead against West Ham. Mikel Arteta's side were cruising in the match at the Olympic Stadium, leading 2-0 after 10 minutes thanks to goals from Gabriel Jesus and Martin Ødegaard. West Ham, however, got back into the game through goals from Saïd Benrahma and Jarrod Bowen, while Bukayo Saka missed a penalty for the away side. The draw leaves Arsenal four points clear of Man City at the top of the table. Pep Guardiola's team, however, have a game in hand on their rivals, and the pair are due to play each other on April 26th at the Etihad Stadium.

On Sky Sports, the pundits stated that Man City now have momentum in the title race. Neville, however, said that Arsenal should not be disappointed even if they finish second. The former Man United full-back said that the Gunners have had an 'unbelievable' season, even if they fall short. "This title race always started at Anfield, look at the fixtures," Neville said. "But they would have snapped your hand off to be in this position at the start of the season. Arsenal finishing second would still be an unbelievable season." Keane, however, did not accept this view. The Irishman disputed Neville's claim and said that Arsenal will have had a 'terrible' season if they do not win the league title.

"No chance, they’ve been top of the table all season," he said. "It would be a terrible season. They’re out of every cup competition. Two-nil up this week, two-nil up today. It’s a huge disappointment." Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was alongside the pair on punditry and he sided with Keane, saying: "Everyone will get stronger next year. They might not be in this position. It would be a disaster." The Gunners have dropped points to Everton, Brentford and West Ham in recent weeks. They also dropped points to Liverpool last weekend after being two-nil up at Anfield.
